Named after the year rugby was established at the University of Florida, the 1969 Society was created to encourage the support of UF Rugby through the Florida Rugby Endowment.  The Florida Rugby Endowment is a fund of the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and provides a permanent and consistent source of financial support for UF Rugby.  Anyone who has given to the endowment is automatically a part of this society of valued UF Rugby supporters! 

 

The endowment provides an annual income of approximately 4% of the fund’s value to support UF Rugby.  Through the University of Florida Rugby Alumni Association, this income currently supplements university funding for the men’s and women’s rugby teams.  As the endowment grows, so does the amount of annual income available to support UF Rugby.  While investments provide some growth, most growth comes in the form of continued giving.  The goal of the 1969 Society is to grow this permanent source of financial support for the men’s and women’s rugby teams at UF.
